Responsibilities and Duties

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provide service to individuals in their own homes and communities, who need assistance caring for themselves as a result of old age, sickness, disability, and/or other infliction's.
  • Assistance includes bathing, exercising, meal planning and preparation, dressing, positioning, transferring/ambulating, feeding, companionship, housekeeping/laundry, personal hygiene/grooming, transportation, shopping/errands/outings, toileting, incontinence care, and ensuring client safety.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant are responsible for ensuring that service is delivered in a caring and respectful manner, in accordance with relevant Agency policies and industry standards.

Description:

  • Provides for activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding patients as necessary and ambulating, turning, and positioning patients; and providing fresh water and nourishment.
  • Provides adjunct care by administering enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, sitz and therapeutic baths; and applying restraints.
  • Maintains patient stability by checking vital signs and weight; testing urine and recording intake and output information.
  • Provides patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients’ call lights and requests; and reporting observations of the patient to nursing supervisor.
  • Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
  • Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures.
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping patient information confidential.

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must be licensed by the Department of Health, MD
  • Must have a current negative TB test or will be able to obtain one.
  • Pass a background check
  • Have reliable transportation
